Joycelin Craig, Asst. Director of Exhibit Environment
The Exploratorium, San Francisco
Ms. Craig experienced a subarachnoid hemorrhage from a ruptured cerebral aneurysm. The aneurysm was eliminated by endovascular coil embolization. She was also diagnosed with a second aneurysm which was unsuitable for coiling, and required a craniotomy with microsurgical clipping at a later date. Because the second aneuysm was unruptured and treated electively, Ms. Craig was able to undergo an additional surgery of the spine to treat a long standing back pain problem, between the two surgeries.
